Milestones Museum Basingstoke are looking to showcase local sport on the grass areas outside their building in a 'Summer of Sport Program' to engage local children and young people in at least 6 different sports across the upcoming summer holidays.
They would be really keen to involve other local sports clubs and organisations in offering some kind of taster session to families attending the Museum across the summer. Each week will focus in on a different sport as follows: Football - w/c July 21st / Golf - w/c July 28th / Tennis - w/c August 4th / Rugby & Cycling - w/c August 18th / Cricket - w/c August 25th. Any other local sports are more than welcome and should get in touch asap to confirm interest and details.
Ideally, they are looking for 2 sessions on week days during the week that we are highlighting that sport but are very happy to be flexible around the groups schedule. In terms of timings we will be open from 10:00am until 5:00pm to the public, but there would be no expectation for the club to stay all day and we can work with whatever suits them.
The summer program will primarily target children and families so this would be a great opportunity to engage with potential new members for the local clubs and their junior teams / youth groups. They plan to host sessions on the field next to Milestones where they have a 100x50M sports space that is due to be landscaped.
Interested sports / clubs should contact - Naomi.Carpenter@hampshireculturaltrust.org.uk asap to confirm interest and arrangements.
