Off the back of the most successful Paralympics ever, Coaching Hampshire & IOW are looking to raise the profile of disabled and non-disabled coaches in sport.
Our plan is to recruit, develop, deploy and retain 50 coaches to support disability sport across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight over the next 2-years.

Coaching Development Manager, CJ Lee, explains "We plan to create a Disability Coaching Network, drawing on the expertise and experiences of existing coaches, whilst supporting the needs of those new to disability sport.  We want to encourage mainstream coaches to offer more inclusive sport, whilst encouraging those with disabilities to share their expertise by becoming qualified coaches."

A newly constituted Disability Coaching Network will be formed which aims to provide new opportunities for coaches within mainstream and disability sport to share ideas, learn from one another and access specialist training.

The first phase of the project is to find out what is currently out there and who wants to get more involved.  We're asking all interested parties to complete a short online survey, following which we'll begin planning for formal launch in Septmeber 2013.

As we progress, regular updates will be available via our website.
